I am having issues with my key getting stuck in my 2022 Colorado. It will turn enough for the engine to shut off but will go all the way back to where the key will release. This is well known issue will many forums documenting this on multiple Chevy vehicles of different makes and models. The safety concerns are if this happens somewhere unsafe to remain parked or to remain with your vehicle. You cannot leave the vehicle unattended and while you can start it, you are stuck with the vehicle until the gas runs out or you have someone come fix/tow you. If you are for example camping or in an unsafe area you cannot leave or lock your vehichle. If you don't have cell service, gas. or money you could be in a real bind. Chevy is definitely aware of this issue and has not issued a recall. This is despite previous recalls and scandal over ignition failure problems.

A very long menu with text is shown in the cluster instrument and is not limited to less text while driving. This menu is in the settings and about function and it lists 30-40 pages of legal and policy terms that can be read while driving and can distract the driver. This menu should show limited text while driving to avoid driver distraction. I brought this up with the manufacturer and got the feedback "working as designed" It appears this design needs to be changed to avoid driver distractions while driving.

I like to have metric units active in my vehicle and this Colorado enables me to switch to metric (i.e. 24h clock, temperature in Celsius, mileage in km, ...) It is my understanding that, in the US, this function is allowed but the current speed must also always be displayed somewhere. This is not the case. When switching to metric ALL units everywhere switch to metric, also the current speed is not shown anywhere in miles, so I can never make sure that I am not exceeding the speed limit. It also affects the cruise control function as, also there, I can not see the speed in miles per hour. I have brought up this topic to the manufacturer and was told "working as designed" I think this needs to be addressed with the manufacturer and a SW update needs to be released to keep at least one display always on miles when going to metric units.

This is a driver distraction report about Apple CarPlay which likely occurs in the same way in every other vehicle with Apple CarPlay. (Since CarPlay and Android Auto become more and more common a special category should probably be created to enable customers to report safety critical topics) Since iOS14 Apple has switched off the simple map scrolling and zooming functions and made it a big effort to change anything on the map while driving. During the time to zoom and move the map I am constantly distracted from looking at the street which leads to dangerous situations in thousands of cars every day multiple times. Apple is not reachable for a topic like this Before iOS14 I could simply move the map and zoom in and out like I can on the phone itself: very intuitive and fast. Since iOS 14 this function has changed: now I am not able anymore to zoom and move the map easily. I have to touch the screen, wait about 750ms for new Plus and Minus Zoom buttons to appear: Only then can I zoom and and out of the map. The delay of these buttons to appear is dangerous and takes my attention away from looking at the street to then click again on plus or minus. But I can still not move the map easily! I have to again touch the screen, wait for about 750ms again for the buttons to appear which then show me also a "move" button to enable the move function. Once the move function is activated I get 4 more buttons on each side of the map (north, east, south, west) where I can touch on to move the map into the corresponding direction. It is not easy to move the map around as I constantly have to coordinate my eyes, fingers and mind to hit the right button and hit it multiple times to make the map move to where I want it to be - while driving this is not easy at all and takes again and again a lot of my attention away from looking at the street. I think it is dangerous and safety critical and needs to be addressed from NHTSA's side to Apple.
