The contact stated while driving at speeds above 25 MPH, the ABS system failed, causing the front brakes to activate without the driver depressing the brake pedal. During the failure the active handling warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the active handling control module wiring harness was faulty and needed to be replaced. Additionally, while operating the vehicle the low beam headlights inadvertently turned off. The mechanic diagnosed that the wiring harness for the exterior lighting needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V251000 (Electrical System, Exterior Lighting). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 50,000. The contact stated that he pulled the fuse box and wiring from the car. In the photos, we can see a damaged wire around a tight bend that has created tension and caused a faulty connection.

The front lights of the car one of them isn't working. I believe this isn't the first complain about this kind of car. It is dangerous to be driving on the road. I have to continue to put my high beams on for them to work. At times both the lights are on and with time driving it will turn one of them off. It's dangerous because the visibility on the road for me and other drivers.

The headlight covers are crazing over which is materially reducing the light output. 1. the covers cannot be polished. Not only does that destroy the outer coating, the crazing is through-and-through. 2. the covers are glued on and cannot be replaced by any official means, although some inventive people have managed to succeed (usually after multiple failed attempts) by sticking the entire assembly in their kitchen oven. However, [see next point] 3. the covers themselves are not available for sale. 4. the headlight assemblies themselves, which cost around $1,000 per side, are specific to the color of the car, and are now discontinued. In other words, there is no legit pathway to fixing this problem. GM made a throwaway headlamp assembly that cost a fortune to replace when it was produced, and now it's not available at all. This is not an old car. These cars were produced until 2013. Three and a half years later, you can't get essential parts to make the headlights safe. Thousands of C6 headlamp covers are starting to fail now. The NHTSA did a recall for the low-beam wiring malfunction on this car. This is a similar problem in its effect.

My low beam lights stopped working. Got had driven to a location in daylight. 2 hours later (dark) I started the car and the low-beams didn't come on. I got home (on fog lamps) and inspects the fuse box. Thought the low beam relay was faulty so went in another vehicle to purchase one. Replacing the relay, the lights came back on. I thought the problem was fixed until the next day, the same thing happened. This is when I did some research and found my car is part of a GM recall; GM recall #: N130146 NHTSA recall #: 14V-251 date issued: May 28, 2014 this same symptom has happened every day since. I booked my car into lonestar Chevrolet, houston, to have this taken care of. The technician, manager and Chevrolet contact center all told me the same thing. "the parts to repair this aren't ready yet (4 months!!). you are perfectly safe to drive on high-beams." In my opinion, it is irresponsible to tell your customer that there is nothing that can be done and to drive illegally at night in the mean-time.

In mid February of 2014 my right low beam headlamp on my 2006 Chevrolet Corvette starting turning off within 5-10 minutes of the headlamps turning on and staying off. Daily, each time the headlamps came on the low beam would work then go out. I took my car to the local Chevrolet dealership explaining the right low beam goes out minutes after it comes on daily at dawn or dusk below is what the local Chevrolet invoice C46040 dated February 25, 2014 states: Concern: Customer states the right low beam head light is inop advise cause: Rf low beam bulb inop correction: Replace rf low beam bulb, all lights operating at this time parts: 000 025735604 bulb tech: Xxx I paid $441.36 to replace a low beam headlamp that GMC/Chevrolet knew was causing issues since May 2013 GMC/Chevrolet has done nothing to this date about announcing a recall but admits to the government that the intermittent headlight failure was due to an electrical short in the engine bay. At this same time my low jack tracking device started having issues and low jack repaired the issue at no cost but Chevrolet charged me for their evaluation of the issue and said it was not the fault of the car. I disagree. I feel very strongly that the electrical short in the engine bay is also the culprit in this situation. I drive commute three times a week round trip 112 miles, the first 30 are before dawn and the last 56 are at night. I was driving with a faulty low beam headlight that could stop working at any time and presented a safety risk to me and other cars. I have called GMC multiple times asking for verification of this particular recall and have been told there is no recall. I feel that GMC/Chevrolet must provide a recall to prevent more Corvette drivers from experiencing situations like mine.

My situation is unique, but it happens hundreds of times every. In Nov and Dec of 2013 and in Jan 2014 my low-beam headlights would go out periodically and I took my car to a Chevrolet dealership who could not determine the specific problem. And I was not told there had been hundreds of complaints about this same issue from other Corvette owners. Why do you think I was not told about hundreds of other complaints" did GM keep it a secret from all the dealers all over the world? when there are hundreds of complaints and problems on one single issue, is that not something that is passed to the dealerships as something to be aware of, to look for, as well as a clue as to how to find and fix the problem" the Chevrolet dealer in Jan they said they could fix the problem by replacing my electrical box at a cost of just over $1,000. I declined, that shotgun approach. They did not find the exact problem as per their invoice. Their shotgun fix would have never made its way to become a GM recall issue. I was told yesterday by the GM dealer they found some wires that was causing my problem. When there is a recall & a GM customer has that recall problem & it's a known potentially serious safety issue and the recall has been announced, it seems the prudent, the reasonable, the common sense, the most cost effective way to solve yet another problem with the recall is for GM to authorize a fix when the the customer is in the dealership with the specific recall problem as in my case yesterday. That is the most common sense safe and cost effective way to handle a situation like mine. I am very disappointed that GM would not authorize a fix right then (yesterday) it would have in the long run saved money for everyone and it would have been cost and safety effective, it's a common sense approach that the best minds at GM overlooked.

I have a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette, while driving along at night all of a sudden the headlights went off. I was lucky enough to be able to pull over without hitting anyone or being hit. I found the problem to be the low beam headlights only. The high beam still work and I was able to get it home.I found out on pc that I was not alone with this problem and like others they will work again when car is cooled down. They will go off again when engine is warm or hot at any given moment.
