We were at a stop light and smelled oil burning. This happened a couple of times before we decided to look under the car. When we did there was oil all over the oil pan and all the way to the rear of the car. Took the car to the Chevy dealer and they tightened the bolts on the oil pan. The service manager told us when we had it in that there was a service bulletin for this and the rear main seal had a problem with leaking and that it should be replaced if any one brought a vehicle in with this problem. Took the car home and drove for a couple days and still smelled oil. Looked under the car and there was oil all over again. This time it was also all over the back of the car and the rear wheels and brakes. Now that is a safety issue to me. Took the car back to the dealer. They kept it a week. Went to pick up the car and the service manager told us they replaced the seal but did not have to pull the motor"?????? I said how did you do that" maybe they could pull this off on some little old lady but not someone that knows something about cars. He went and talked to the guy that worked on the car and he said they didn't replace it, they put dye in and test drove it and didn't find a leak. Well by the time I got home there was oil all over again. In other words, they did not want to fix it because we bought it out of state. The car only had 3500 miles on it. The other problem was the windshield wipers did not work on high. You do not want to be in Florida when it rains without wipers that work on high. After 3 tries, they finally had to cut the wiring harness because it was all corroded. I sure am glad I spent $70,000 for a brand new car. I would never take another vehicle to lott mather Chevrolet in haines's city, fl or recommend them to anyone. As for buying my dream car.......lemon!
