About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Corvette. While driving 65 mph, the service active handling system warning light illuminated on the warning panel. The contact reviewed NHTSA campaign id number 10V172000 (steering, column); yet, when contacting the dealer, he was advised that the recall did not exist. The dealer did not repair the vehicle or perform a diagnostic test since the contact had not experienced a direct failure. The manufacturer advised the contact to have a diagnostic test performed at his expense to determine if repairs were necessary. The failure and current mileages were 10,640.
