The Body Control Module has failed and there are no replacement parts available except used parts. The BCM is hard coded with the VIN. If you use a BCM from another car, certain safety systems are deactivated such as the air bags. The BCM is central to the electronic architecture so all other systems are at risk. The unit can be responsible for the car not starting, the headlights not working, the power windows and door locks failing, or in my case the active suspension not functioning. Since BCM's are widely used, this is a looming major safety issue for the nation because GM quit making new ones, no one else makes these parts, no one can repair the units. I know a number of C6 Corvette owners are using used parts which deactivates the air bags and the security system.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Corvette. The vehicle has Goodyear Eagle tires. Upon inspection of the tires, the contact noticed that the two front tires had excessive tread wear, as well as several bulges on the interior sidewall. The dealer refused to inspect the tires in order to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer did not provide any assistance. The contact still has possession of the tires. The failure and current mileages were 12,033. Updated 08/04/08. Updated 08/05/08
