Corvette L2 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,500 miles

I had the same transmission problem a year later ,but since it's 6 yr's old and out of warranty, they would do nothing unless I paid. It has less than 10 K on the can in 2020 and less than 1000 miles since they fixed the same problem. I even called Chevy customer service and after 2 hrs on the phone they refused to help me!

Corvette Coupe 6.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 52,000 miles

Just brought the Vette in for the third time for the same issue. On 3/18/19 was told by service advisor that tests would be performed and the information would be sent to GM for evaluation. This problem occurs when the transmission is cold in the morning on first start up. From park to reverse there is a 5-6 second delay where nothing happens and then suddenly its like someone in front of you backed into you with a violent thud. They are starting to tell me this is "normal". Bullcrap! Then I guess for the first 35,000 mile it was abnormal. Because it wasn't doing that until recently. It now has 52,000 miles and is under a 100,000 transmission warranty but all they have managed to do it flush the transmission twice-the second time replaced with a new recommended fluid. No change at all! I am getting fed up with this and after spending $52,000 on the car I expect far better performance than this. Don't tell me its normal! I am driving a Cadillac SRX with 113,000 that is not doing this.

I also am driving a 2019 Chevy Malibu that when going from park to reverse is so quiet you can't hear or feel a thing. Smooth. This is the last time I take it to Bob Steele Chevy in Cocoa. Next stop is GM customer assistance. I won't stop until this is fixed or transmission/torque converter replaced.

Corvette 1LT 6.2L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,500 miles

Only 10,000mi on the Corvette, and the transmission has now been removed from the car 3 times. The cylinder deactivation makes the car run so rough, it's literally tearing itself apart. First the torque convert, then the belt tensioners.

Corvette Z51 Coupe

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

Sometimes the car would jerk first time in the morning prior to this new jerking problem. While maintaining speed, car seems to hesitate, jerk, rpms increase then drop back down. Occurs about every 10 seconds. I have looked and found similar complaints on other sites about the torque converter and transmission. Some have new software downloads, converter replaced and even transmission replaced. Seems like a common problem. Worried about the quality of service at Chevy since some said dealer unable to correct or even attempt to fix the problem. Cannot continue to drive this way! Needs to be fixed.
