I'm disgusted , I purchased my 2016 Stingray with 2800 miles November 28th 2020.The original owner only drove it to car shows and never abused it . I know this guy and know how he treated it as well "MY DREAM CAR" I've only babied this car since purchased . Drove it about 45 miles my last drive came home parked it .I started it remotely A week later to detail and cover it . I could hear the God awfull ticking from inside my home coming from the valve cover area . I had it delivered to the dealership for dianostics only to be told i have a collapsed lifter and possible camshaft damage . Computer showed over 50 misfires from 2 seperate cylinders .
This car has 9900 actual miles with an expired warrenty because of its age and it's going to cost 4555.00 just in diagnostics to this point . The dealership is so astonished that they're contacting GM/Chevrolet on my behalf. I've taken it to the local Chevrolet dealer for services/oil changes since purchased. Fortuanely they're aware of how i've treated this POS til date . I don't expect much from them but i'm waiting just to see what happens anyway.
Unfortunatley for me i just purchsed a 2020 Chevrolet/GM pickup 3 months ago. I Googled this issue for information puposes only to find out there's a history with lifter failure in the truck also . I'll definitely be selling the both of them ASAP . For anyone who has had to deal with this or dealing with it presently Chevrolet/GM will not offer a recall . There was a class action lawsuit filed in the state of Michigan for this bullshit in December .
This is not my normal demeaner but i'm purely pissed at the quality of the Chevrolet/GM vehicles that aren't cheap by any means .
To think i've spent $110,000.00 for the two makes me sick to think about it .
