I dropped my car off at the dealer to have a thermostat replaced due to a faulty gauge that kept the fan running from the time I turn the key to on, until I take the key out. While in the shop, I also had an oil change. When I got the car back, the A/C suddenly stopped working, only blowing out hot air. I recharged the system yesterday, only to check again last night and see and there was no freon in system again. I took car to shop only to have them tell me I needed to do a $190 drain and fill and then to tell me there was a leak coming from a drain and that the evaporator would need to be replaced - $1200. Does this sound right? I am having a difficult time understanding how a 2 year old car would have this issue.
