Cruze 1.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 129,000 miles

While driving the a/c would cut off due to high engine temperature. Replaced the temp. sending sensor, still had problem. They replaced the temperature housing unit and did a flush job on the antifreeze. Seems to be working good now. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Cruze ECO

  • Automatic transmission
  • 56,000 miles

Purchased a 2012 Chevy Cruze Eco in August 2014. Since November 2016 I have had nothing but issues with this car. It constantly overheats and overall is the WORST car I have ever owned. I have had to replace the water pump, engine coolant flange, and thermostat 2xs. When it starts to happen the Engine running hot A/C off button comes on and I know I am in trouble. I also get messages such as service stabilitrack, needs oil change and all these other random lights that sporadically pop on.The issue was fixed numerous times by a family friend who is a mechanic thank god because otherwise with all the issues this car had it would cost a fortune.

Finally on February 10th, 2018 the car had the same issues and had total engine failure. The engine is completely dead and the engine has to be replaced. Thank you Chevy for making such an awesomely reliable car HAHA. I would never purchase nor EVER recommend this car to anyone. I know how much anxiety it has caused me over the last couple years and I feel for anyone who owns this horrible vehicle. I hope your situation turns out better than this one.

Cruze

  • Automatic transmission
  • 15,000 miles

I was out of town in the middle of nowhere on my way to Casper, Wyoming, with 2 kids in the snow, when my car started overheating. Pulled over. Got absolutely no indication of anything wrong from sensors, electrical or computer. No indication of the engine being hot from the temp gauge. Started car, seemed ok, so went not more than 2 miles before problem got worse and all indicator lights and warnings went off and turned off the engine in the middle of the highway! Thankfully it was later at night so there wasn't traffic around.

After getting the run around from Onstar about not being able to find my location for an hour and a half, they finally put me in touch with a tow company, and the tow company said there was a fire in the building and hung up on me!!!! Found out later they weren't even in the same state as me. Got taken to town after 3 hours of freezing in a smelly, ruined car by my ex-husband, who was nice enough to come get us so his children would not have to sleep there, just to have to deal with Chevrolet to get the part. Would not reimburse motel fees for the 3 extra days I was stuck waiting for the part. Would not pay to have the interior cleaned, fixed or replaced. I still have to smell anti-freeze and deal with sticky shoes anytime I get in my car!!!!!!!!!

Can't afford a new car or to have it detailed to the extent it needs. It needs new carpet, panels, floor mats and cushioning on the interior under the dash on the driver's side. Will never buy another Chevy, EVER!!!!
