I called Shaheen Chevrolet, in Lansing, MI, where I bought the car. The woman I talked to said it was not urgent but should be fixed soon. She also said it was covered (a no-fee fix) and I made an appointment for February 6. Then I drove to work and had to put some muscle into each turn. I also found it difficult to park and was over the line.
I called Shaheen Chevrolet back and scheduled an appointment for that afternoon. When I took it in, the intake man said the woman I spoke with was mistaken and it was not a free fix. It would cost $109 + change to have the problem diagnosed and an unknown amount to have the problem fixed.
On the way to the dealership, I did not receive the earlier message or have trouble steering. They said the problem would not be looked at until at least February 4.
