The Cruze has been in the shop 7 times from June 2015-Jan 2016 for 100 days total. All repairs have been in relation to exhaust system issues. The dealership illegally passed our car through emissions tests. The last repair took 30 days; the car failed for over a month to indicate a fault with the turbo charger and gasket allowing for exhaust to enter the vehicle.
I use this car to commute 90 or more minutes a day. At the time and currently I am pregnant with my second child. I did not know the exhaust was coming in and there was no check engine light and on star verified nothing wrong with the car. My husband couldn't stand to be in the car due to the smell.
During the last repair, the general manager of the dealership told us Chevy would buy back the vehicle. But when the paperwork came in the did a trade agreement stating we would pay the full cost of our car, almost 28k and then charge us 9200 dollars for usage of our purchased vehicle and to finish off the added costs to change out and upgrade vehicles. We told them no, picked up our "repaired" vehicle. The car still smells of exhaust it makes me so sick to drive it

I thought I fixed this last year but they just took my money. I started smelling the burned gas or oil smell once again within 10 minutes of driving my car. It's so bad I have to roll the windows down. I told my co-worker and he said his Cruze has the same problem and his brother's Cruze has the exact same problem. I started googling it and I guess it's a common problem for Cruzes. I already made an appointment with GM but they said they will only cover it if its something with the ac because there is no recalls on it. But there is a recall - I got a letter about a year ago which I lost.
