July 2017 I had a GM (voluntary) manufacture recall completed on my car for the nox sensor position 1 (def sensor). On January 16, 2018 the nox sensor 2 needed to be replaced, cost $700. I was very far from a dealership, and when I finally got to a dealership I was at 16 miles before the car speed would go to the 4mph speed reduction. I live in Michigan and the weather has been very cold. I would have been in a jam if I hadn't made it to a dealership soon, because the car wouldn't have been able to go over 4mph. The nox position 2 sensor should have be part of the recall when the position 1 sensor was replaced.

  • 17,000 miles
My car is a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze and only had 17,000 miles on it when my fuel pump went out while I was driving down a busy street at night. Before that happened I noticed for several days before that my gas was burning up at an alarming rate. Not even getting 25 miles when I had put $20 in tank. The day this happened I left my house where I was parked in the garage, my first stop was a gas station. Upon leaving there I made it half a block and car died in the middle of traffic. I could not go anywhere just dead. Tried the battery, tried to jump it but nothing worked, so I had it towed home.. the next day I called the dealership and they towed it to the dealership. They had my car for a couple days before they told me I had something in my gas, sent me a picture of this measuring cup with 2 different separated liquids in it. One clear and one light brown. Said it would be $1013. And change to fix this problem and since it was vandalism it was not under warranty. I was very upset so he suggested I call insurance and claim through them. Went back and forth with them trying to figure out when the insurance adjuster was going to be there. 2 weeks went by and I was still paying for a car rental and they hadn't started on my car yet. Insurance adjuster came out and said they would cover if it was vandalism but he didn't think it was vandalism. I didn't either since I was parked in the garage and I was having fuel problems before. So my deductible was kind of high and insurance said it wasn't worth it to cover for that little bit of money and I agreed. It took them longer than 2 weeks to fix it. They said the bad fuel made the fuel pump go out, and I'm not so sure because tons of people complain about the fuel pump in different online forums. I'd like to know if there is more people complaining of this. Uploaded 2 photos and also have paperwork info from insurance.

The car was taken in to be routinely serviced and it was noticed that there was an oil leak. The dealership only provide a temporary fix. Trying to get an apt as a followup was pointless, because the dealership indicated that they were busy. Well, the car caught fire and the serv ice dept. Refused to acknowledge that there was a problem and that they were too busy the car was being driven on a highway, there was a popping sound, and then the car caught fire.

The fuel gauges, both digital and analog, showed that the distance to empty was 70 miles. Actually, there was no gasoline left in the tank and the vehicle came to a stop on the highway. This happened twice. After the first time, the vehicle was towed to the dealer, West herr Chevrolet in buffalo, NY, which described the problem as running out of gasoline. The fuel gauges are defective. When the tank was filled after running out of gasoline, the gauges continued to read that there was only 70 miles to empty for an additional 24 hours or more.

Vehicle riding normal and suddenly starts decelerating. Pushing on gas pedal only makes car slow quicker. Has occurred 3 times on interstate highways and once on city streets. Have been back to dealer 3 times under warranty with no fix. Car has 33,175 miles and dealer wants $99 to "drive it around and see if they can determine the cause". to resume driving you must stop, shift into neutral, and give enging a bit of gas. Then you can resume driving normally. I shifted into neutral while driving, but again when I pushed accelerator the speed dropped faster again. The electronics give no codes or lights and 3 occurrences were at highway speed of 60 mph with no room to maneuver over to side of road. Today I nearly had multiple cars behind me crash as they braked or swerved to miss me. Dealer is marhoferchevrolet in stow, Ohio.

Car only has 50,500 miles on it. Check engine light is on for gas air intake problems and maybe gasket problems. Car will be idle at a light and the rpms will rev up and down constantly. Seen where a lot of people are having this issue with even less miles on their cars. Shouldn't be happening. $300 fix quote.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. Whenever the contact placed fuel into the fuel tank, the vehicle failed to start without a two minute delay and the check engine indicator illuminated. Also, whenever the vehicle was stopped for approximately three or more minutes, it would suddenly stall. The contact had to restart the vehicle in order to accelerate. When the vehicle was driven approximately 50 mph, the power steering failed. All the failures recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 200.

October 12 2016 my Chevy Cruze was hit by a peterbilt 375 dump truck in two place the driver side rear wheel and driver and passeger door speed was just over 20 mile per hour increasing because the mack truck bulldoze me up the road my airbags did not deploy and my seat belt did not tighten up. I complained in 2015 August about the fuel injection not allowing the car to accelerate when I suppress the gas pedal to the floor my car just did not move for about 5 seconds then surged violently. Wentworth Chevrolet and GM customer care center conducted a product safety check on my anti locking/airbags/ and fuel injection releasing the car 15 days later stating the vehicle had not problem then 10/12/2016 happened. I believe GM and wentworth allowed a compromised and broken vehicle back out on the road endangering my life acting with reckless negligence and complete lack of ownership and responsibility.

Soon after purchase in 2014, my Cruze turbo diesel started having many different errors showing on the dash display anywhere from traction control, power steering, and others. After many attempts through local dealers, GM sent a technician to me and repaired that issue. Now there has been many issues with the car flashing issues on the dash about diesel exhaust fluid poor, particulate filter full need regen, and finally power decreased, which I did not have hardly any acceleration. I followed every procedure the owners manual and car told me to do, and still did not regenerate the particulate filter. The dealer had to force a regeneration on the filter and order a def heater. It seems that there is many electrical issues with this car and once one is repaired, another one appears. Other than the electrical / computer issues which is unpredictable, it is a great car since we purchased it new.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. After starting the engine, a strong odor of fuel was present inside the vehicle. While idling, approximately 1/4 of a tank of fuel had evaporated. The contact also indicated that fuel leaked under the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that rodents damaged the fuel lines. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 9,700.

Fuel system failure resulting in catastrophic engine fire. I purchased this vehicle brand new in April 2014. After complaining about engine power loss three months prior, I started smelling a fuel odor the week before thanksgiving, I immediately notified the Chevrolet dealer about the odor, the dealer did inform me that a tsb was on GM dealer world in regards to the fuel rails possibly coming loose causing a fuel odor / hesitation. After careful examination of the vehicle there was no visible fuel liquid present on the engine or ground below the vehicle. The vehicle sat parked in the driveway for majority of the day, upon starting the vehicle to Transport to the dealer three minutes after the vehicle burst into flames in the engine compartment, using a garden hose while calling 911 the vehicle became fully involved in the engine bay spreading into the passenger compartment. Once water contacted the engine bay the fire further spread indicating the fire was chemically based. The local fire department extinguished the vehicle using a foam water mixture. The vehicle was declared a total loss by insurance, I contacted GM customer support only to be stonewalled by the agent. I had over 10000 dollars in payments invested in this vehicle. GM should have stepped up to the plate not the insurance. Not a surprise after the ignition switch discretions and deaths. Google Chevy Cruze engine fires this has happened several times before!!!!!!!!!!

Car randomly will shutoff/jerk and restart, similar to turning off the key and turning it back on immediately. All of the dash lights came on and went off, the radio restarted and froze. Vehicle lost power electrically and the engine shutoff for a split second. Vehicle has electric power steering that quit, due to loss of vehicle power. This occurred while coming to a stop at a stop light, almost stopped.

Problem: Smell of gas upon restart of vehicle. Summary; I had driven from Chicago to brownstown, mi (which is a distance of about 250 - 300 miles) where I dropped someone off. Stopped for about 5 minutes, then started driving from brownstown to carleton. When leaving brownstown, I did accelerate a little more forcefully than usual to get away from tailgater, and continued the trip to carleton (total distance about 7 miles). Stopped at store for about 10 - 15 minutes for groceries. When I restarted the vehicle in carleton store parking lot, there was a distinct smell of gasoline. The smell dissipated after a minute, but I also opened the window to help with that. Today I googled Cruze gas smell to see if any other people experienced the same thing, and I found several comments describing gas smell on restart of car. I am reporting this, only to bring it to your attention. I will be taking my Cruze into the dealership soon for another issue with fluid leaking from car (received letter yesterday, and have observed same), and will report the gas smell. Although nothing has happened, a gas smell seems like a potentially serious problem. I am hoping the problem will be identified and fixed before a serious incident occurs.
