the brakes had to be pushed down all the way to the floor
I knew immediately after I had purchased it that there was a problem. The brakes had to be pushed all the way to the floor to work and then they still didn't work well. The gas pedal was normal so it was extremely awkward. I had purposely purchased a car with all the safety features and then I realize the brakes were bad. I took it back to the dealership and told them about it. I drove a friend's cruze and it was fine. I looked up on the internet and saw that there was a recall on the parking brake but didn't know if there was a connection. The mechanics were trying to say it was normal but the Salesman disagreed with them. Sure enough they found the problem. "The factory did not adjust the back brakes in the correct location". This was also realized because the parking brake would not hold the car still. (the known recall). They fixed it and now the car brakes work correctly. I just wanted to tell others that if they try to tell you it is normal, don't accept it.
