I bought my car in October 2016 and it only had 17 miles on it. On December 28,2017 my check engine light came on with the code Po15B and at that time my car only had 14,436 miles. The shop had reprogrammed the ECM. Than on January 4,2018 my cars check engine light came back on again with the code P015b this time the shop replaced the O2 Sensor and at that time I only had 14558 miles. Then on March 14, 2019 my check engine light came back on again with the code P015B so the shop updated the ECM and it failed so they replaced the O2 Sensor. Then on January 7, 2020 my check engine light came back on again and the code once again was P015B the miles was 30049 and they replaced the O2 sensor again. Then once again on April 2, 2021 my check engine light came back on again with the same code as above with 35924 miles. Once again on April 21, 2021 my check engine light came on with the same code as before (P015B) with only 36099 miles on it - this time they replaced the valve cover. Once again my check engine light came on just like before with the same code with only 36298 miles and this time they replaced the ECM and reprogrammed it.
So nothing that the shop has done has not fixed the problem or issue and it has came on another 3-4 times and my car was just in the shop today with the same issues (September 7, 2021) and they had told me that GM engineer told them to tell me that the car is not getting hot enough to burn the soot off of the O2 Sensor and so they want me to basically to take my car out like on the interstate and get it up to speed and drive it for 20 mins twice a week and not just drive it around in town.
I had bought a newer car cause the car that I did have at the time had many issues, so I thought that buying a brand new vehicle I wouldn't have to go through lots of issues. I guess I was totally wrong on that. I also just really don't understand why I would have to go driving like on the interstate for 20 mins when I drive in town the car is getting hot enough. I really think that I am just getting screwed over every which way and the shop can never get it fixed permanently. There is no reason why I should be having this much issue with only having 38000 miles on it.

Havent even had this car for a year and its caused so many issues! The biggest the turbo went out. Had to get it replaced $1800 later and its messed up again not even 2 days later.
Update from Jul 17, 2018: Also since the Turbo is messed up its throwing a boostcharger code on and its making all kinds of other lights come on. Really pissed of about buying a car for 20 grand and having to put so much money in to it, with it being 2 years old.

The day my Cruze Limited hit 36000 it started alerting to service traction control & stabilitrak. I did some research and I found a thread with similar problems and people on there explained the issues that followed after this warned. Before my car alerted this I was having issues accelerating but I figured it was because I was due for an oil change. So back to the two alerts that appeared after hitting 36k. It started to make an odd grinding sound whenever I would make a semi-sharp turn. Again I did nothing about it because after I called my local chevy dealer they said after 36k I am not covered on the warranty. 2 weeks pass and my car starts to alers "service power steering" and would have a high idle speed then it would just die out of no where if i was idling for awhile. 1 later I go in for an oil change and a full engine inspection and I am informed that the PCV valve is leaking, the mechanic said that this is a very common problem with Cruze's. The part was too expensive therefore I declined the repair. 2 days after my oil change my car would not start. It would click as if the battery was not dead because there were lights in the car. The only way to get it to start is if i turn the key, put it in Neutral, it will start. You have to try it about 5-6 times but it eventually starts. At the moment the chevy dealer i purchased the car from is wanting me to trade it in for a new 2018 but I am nervous that the new cruze will have issues as well.

We bought a newer car thinking it would be nice but since we bought it we've had it in 2 times already. That's why we would buy cheap used cars. Now we decided to go with a new one and nothing but troubles. In 3 months first time in hadn't even made a payment now back in after 3 payments. I'm so sick of this. That's why we got a new car. And now we may have to pay for it. And we are supposed to be covered till 100,000 miles now sounds like we have to pay for it. I'm ticked off the guy said 800 dollars. What the heck.

I bought a 2016 Cruze L manual transmission..
Since I got the car , I have had a problem with it. I drove it to the dealer 5 times now and they never fixed the problem. The car is jerking on acceleration and oil pan is filling slowly with gas.... The only time dealer did something is when the car had 5000 km and had over 1 liter of gas in oil pan,,,,,,,, they changed oil only... I had the p0172 code (fuel trim too rich) Even with new oil, the car still has the same fuc,,,,, problem.........it always has a miss in acceleration .... and also a bad clicking sound in engine bay .,... the sound increases with rpm ..
I hate the car so much now.... it is not just annoying ,,, it can be dangerous as I can't have all power when I need it........ sometimes it acts like I turn the key off and back to on position.... 5 times at dealer and always the same.........." your car have nothing sir" ............ I'm a mechanic for 29 years.... no one will tell me the car is ok...... I have 100 km done since oil changed and it smells like gas again in oil....... Worst car I ever had.

I bought this 2016 Cruze LT new with only 50 miles on it on Oct 14, 2016. After signing the paperwork (yes I tested the car and the engine light was not on) and getting in the car to get it filled with gas and go home, the engine light was on. The salesman went with me to get gas across the street and he checked under the hood but the light was still on and so we went back to dealership where the car was checked by a mechanic who was just leaving for home. It was about 6:30pm. The mechanic took a look and cleared the light and I went home (about 35 miles away).
The next morning I get in the car and the engine light is on. I was heading to Tracy CA so I thought I'd have it checked out there but the service department was busy and so I made an appointment for Monday since I planned to be back in Tracy on Monday. Well, the engine light went off on Sunday afternoon. The service guy said on Monday that the light needed to be on for him to be able to tell what code it was giving. Well, the light came back on again on Wednesday and I took it to my local dealership in the afternoon and the guy checked the code and said to bring it on Thursday morning (Oct 20) which I did. They had the car from 7am until 4-4:30pm and the light was now off but the adviser said it might come back on again after I've driven it about 100 miles. He said his technician put about 50 miles (it was actually 60 miles) on the car to test it out. He tells me after the fact and just before I pick up my car. I told the adviser that I was going to San Jose the next day for a memorial service and I told the adviser I would keep him posted.
I went to the memorial service and the light was not on but after the service and before heading to the Celebration of Life, the engine light came on again. I called the adviser who told me to bring the car in on Monday, Oct 24. He said they would put me in a rental car until they fixed my car. I was concerned that his dealership did not fix the problem in the first place. I texted my salesman who sold me the car and said I'd like to bring the car to them to get it fixed once and for all. I took the car to them on Monday morning. It's now Thursday, Oct 27 and apparently the wrong part was ordered and so they hope to have it fixed by tomorrow. I was told the problem has something to do with the fuse box but I honestly don't know if that is the problem or not.
Update from Jan 2, 2017: After my Cruze was at the dealership for about 3 weeks (til mid Nov), I was told that the problem was the Karr alarm system. However, then that started to act up and so I told manager I just wanted my money back and the manager said he had to check to see if my GM points which was used to purchase the car could be returned to my credit card or if I was able to get the money. I was able to get my money. They still made money off of me because we traded in my mom's PT cruiser which we could have sold on our own for a higher price. Plus they got money from Karr for the rental car they put me in while they were attempting to fix my car. Now, I'm looking for a new car now that I've returned from visiting relatives for the holidays and my sister has driven me to where I need to go.

In the past few months I have spent a lot of money on this car, a/c compressor, fan and something else that goes to the a/c, a total of $2800. I only take it my car to the dealer or pep boys for oil change, and this is my only means of transportation. I live in a rural area with a 70 round trip from my jobs. I have always kept my car properly maintained. I have received two recall letters from gm in the past year.
