Wheel bearing went out. Loud noise at steady speed that went away when the wheel was rotated. Lead me to think wheel bearing. Cost to repair at shop $350.

Okay, so about two months ago or so, driving down the interstate, and all of a sudden, my whole car starting vibrating like a tire had just busted, or as if i was riding down the shoulder of the road on those rivets. It was vibrating so bad that even my rear view mirror was shaking. Then about 5 minutes into it, it stopped and didn't do it again for another couple of weeks. Told my husband about it, and of course he thinks i'm crazy. Then two days ago, while my husband was in the car with me it finally did the vibration again with him in there, and now on top of the vibration it is now making a whistling noise up front. Of course, now it is a major problem and we have to take it to the shop to see if we can get it fixed, but when i said what it was doing he didn't believe me. Took it today to the dealer, and of course it wouldn't make the vibration, or the noise. Anybody have a solution?

So i had this severe vibration while driving, i had already replaced the wheel bearings and the problem continued. I decided to replace the axle shafts but thought why would these be bad there is only a little over 100000 miles on this vehicle. I found a good deal from DETROIT AXLE, thanks to them, and the vibrations have stopped. In my experience GM has done a great job with making their vehicles last for 100000 miles. Anything over that be prepared to replace parts.
