Equinox

  • Automatic transmission
  • 48,000 miles

the repair mechanic indicated this was a common defect in the equinox model. mine is a 2006 with 40K miles. almost new.

question 1: if it's a defective part why the hell would I pay $700 for a new one?

question 2: why was the equinox designed SO badly that I have to drain/drop the fuel tank to replace it? (modern vehicles have access panels under rear seats) this is $500 labor where I am!

question 3: would Chevrolet be interested in doing this repair at shared cost? to prevent me from making sure that none of my readers (or me of course) EVER purchase another chevy ANYTHING?

When my Subaru legacy pump went at 120K miles, I bought a NEW one at OReilly's for $65 and I replaced it myself through the panel under the rear seat. 30,000 miles ago. given this, why would anyone consider buying an 'american' car?
