I was driving home from work on a busy interstate going nearly 60 mph when my traction control light came on, I lost engine power, my car jerked because of this and I was nearly hit from behind. This is a huge safety problem and should be fixed. After reading other complaints about the same issue, when is GM going to do something about this obvious problem for the consumer?

We were traveling 3-28-2013 and were about a hundred miles from our destination when the service stabilitrac, service traction control and check engine light came on. Less than a year prior to this on 4-19-2012 we had a similar incident, which happened to be the power steering control module. We made it home 4-2-2013 and took it to the shop and found out the egr valve need replacing. I replace the egr valve and cleared the codes. All was well till 4-7-2013 when the service stabilitrac and service traction control lights came on again. I have not had a chance to look into this.

2007 Chevy Equinox. Consumer writes in regards to brakes malfunction. The consumer stated while driving, the vehicle started braking on its own and then came to a complete stop. The traction control and stabiltrak lights blinked on and off. The consumer stated it happened several more times. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop. They were unable to diagnose the problem, so the vehicle was towed to the dealer. An inspection revealed contaminated brake fluid. The dealer informed the consumer it would cost $4,000 to correct the problem. The vehicle was taken back to the first repair shop, where the brake master cylinder, brake boosters and brake hoses were replaced at a cost of $ $1215.31. The vehicle performed well, for three weeks, until a heavy rain caused the traction control and stabiltrak light to flicker and the vehicle began to brake again without driver activation.

I bought a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox in 2010. It has a problem with service stabilitrak and check engine light on. I called service advisor at Chevy dealership and needs to run diagnostic to find out problem with stabilitrak. The vehicle has over 71,000 miles, should be covered with drive train warranty. I will need to pay for diagnostic first, then the problem will be covered under warranty. I feel the warranty for drive train should cover the diagnostic charge and parts, labor. Now I cannot bring vehicle in to service until $$ are covered for diagnostic check. The warranty covers used cars drive train. Let me know, and let the dealership know about this complaint.
