The car overheated while we were in California, we live in Arizona. Had to have it towed from the freeway with 3 toddlers. Had to stay an extra week, while my husband had to fly home to go to work. Had to stay with in-laws, brother and sister in law. Then my father in law drove us back to Arizona while we waited. Took 16 days to have the car fixed. Had to have a rental car during that time, then drive back to California to get the car. We are upside down in this car, otherwise I would trade it in!! I'm never buying another chevy again!! This is just one of the problems this car has had.

Traditionally, my family has owned GM cars. My very first car was a Chevy Nova. Although, I knew it had a Japanese engine, I was faithful to GM. My husband and I purchase a brand new, 2007 Chevy Equinox. The car has been a problem from the beginning. First, all the blind spots that we didn't realize. Next, the "tire pressure" light would flash even though we filled the tires properly and had them check. These issues were followed by water filling up in the back tire well, and the floors constantly wet when it rained. Within the next few years, we paid well over $500.00 dollars to replace light bulbs. Then, the more serious problems occurred. The Stabilitrak cost over $300.00; and the water pump had to be replaced. Currently, the engine is overheating. The engine light comes on an power is reduced drastically. The dealership said we "may need head gaskets, but not sure this will solve the problem"...$1,500.00!!!! Coolant is leaking somehwere and mixing with oil. We are currently working with GM to get some resolve. I know about 5 other Equinox owners whose cars have literally "died" on them. Or, the are having the same problems. GM should take the high road and recall these faulty vehicles. It's the right thing to do! I cannot afford another car note and am very upset that a car that is only 5 years old is having such major issues. My Nova lasted for 19 years (almost 200.000 miles). GM needs to help their faithful consumers.
