Pretty sad to see a quality manufacturer have this problem. Not my next choice of brand.

key fob buttons pushed through key fob

I went to the dealership to see if I could replace my key fob because my unlock button pushed right through and broke out. They told me the cost of a new one was $130. I got some hot glue and glued the button back in.

Just yesterday, my lock button pushed through. Now I have both buttons glued in. I found the Key Fob Shells on Ebay for $9.00. I'm going to try that. It says that I can take my key fob guts out and put them in the new shell. Hopefully it will work and save $$$

Equinox LT1 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 49,890 miles

Really irritated with GM and its quality. The unlock button on my keyfob wore off and now I cannot unlock the car remotely. I have to unlock it "old school" style and the start the car quickly so the alarm doesn't go off. The dealership said it would be a $75 fix. That combined with other issues, I am looking to dump the car so I don't want to put more money into a product of a company that doesn't have its customers best interests at hand.
