I'm interested in filing a class action lawsuit against Chevy/GM for cost associated with transmissions that should be on recall... My 2010 Equinox started shifting hard last week so I took it to the dealership & I was told the Trans Half Case is leaking fluid, the fluid is burnt & has metal shavings in it!!!
It's $2998 to tear down + who knows how much in additional cost to fix the actual problem or $4560 for a new GM Certified transmission with a THREE YEAR WARRANTY!!! Seriously??? I've found all these complaints online from Chevy customers with transmission issues & I can't for the life of me figure out why Chevy hasn't issued a recall??? Is it because no one has died from this yet??? Why does it seem like recalls are only issued after lives are lost due to the problem & even then car companies try to fight it, cover it up & lie about it!
Vehicle prices keep rising (like everything else just more significantly) and Chevy's putting faulty, junk throw away parts on them? Any part that cost $4560 & is only warrantied for 3 years is a "THROW AWAY PART!" I am LIVID over this! Hey GM... Remember when our government bailed you out??? You need to do the same for your customers whom you know are experiencing these problems b/c the brand is GREEDY! Chevy has knowingly used cheap bad parts on our excessively expensive vehicles & they're getting richer by charging us high prices for the repairs instead of doing the right thing!
Remember when you claimed with a slogan you were "The Heartbeat of America?" Now your just another problem for America & exactly what's wrong with America!!! Chevy... If you step up & correct this issue I will remain a life long customer & if you don't... I will never buy another Chevy/GM product. I will blast you on every site I can (as many other customers are doing) and I will go a step further by doing everything I can to get a class action lawsuit going against you for this!
Any one out there interested in being part of a class action lawsuit against Chevy to recover the cost for transmission repairs... Please contact me!!!

I am very upset that this car's transmission started slipping with only 83K miles on it. It was a huge unexpected cost from a vehicle I never had any huge problems with before. In my opinion this transmission issue should have a recall associated with it because according to many mechanics in my area this year of vehicle is known for having transmission issues and later on in the 2013 and up models the issue was fixed. I've seen many people complain about their transmission going out around 80K miles so this seems to be a very common problem with this year of Equinox

after driving over railroad tracks, the vehicle fell down in power and rpms hit 5k. second experience with transmission problems so it may soon have to be rebuilt for the second time.

bought used in 2013 had the right miles, I already had engine rebuild almost 2 years just over 40000 miles , I complained a few times felt like transmission was slipping but dealer never found any issues. Well today drove to an outing reversed in parking spot, two hours later I was driving and had to turn around the RPM started to go crazy and wasn't getting any power. made it to a destination then would not go into reverse then I put it into drive then reverse again, worked very slowly. drove to dealer seemed every time I took a turn I would lose power. And of course this happened not to long after Warranty expired.

I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW DECEMBER 19, 2010 WITH 52 MILES ON IT. I KEEP MY MAINTENANCE ON MY VEHICLE UPDATE. AS OF LAST YEAR WHEN I HAD THE THROTTLE BODY DONE ON THE VEHICLE IT HASN'T DRIVEN THE SAME. THE ENGINE IN THE VEHICLE STARTED MAKING A NOISE, SO I HAD TO TAKE IT BACK FOR THAT IN OCTOBER OF 2014.
I CONTINUED TO HAVE NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE HOWEVER THE MOST RECENT IS THE OLD CONSUMPTION PROBLEM WHICH SEEMS BE THE PROBLEM EVERYONE IS HAVING AND THE COMPANY IS NOT TAKING FULL RESPONSIBILITY.
AS OF THE 22ND OF OCTOBER I WAS TOLD THAT I HAVE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS BUT I WILL HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET BECAUSE I DID NOT PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, WARRANTY OR NO WARRANTY MY VEHICLE SHOULD BE COVERED DUE TO THE FAILURE OF CHEVORLET PROPERLY BUILDING OF THEIR VEHICLES AND LACK OF RECALLS, UNFORTUNATELY WHEN I CALLED CORPORATE THEY WOULD ONLY STATE WHAT THEY WOULDN'T DO AND THAT IT'S UP TO THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE RECALLS, YOU WOULD THINK THAT BY BEING A LOYAL CUSTOMER MATTERS BUT IT DOESN'T AND I BOUGHT 4 VEHICLES FROM THEM OVER THE YEARS, UNFORTUNATELY IT ALWAYS TAKES DEATH OR INJURY FOR A COMPANY TO DO THE RIGHT THING. I'M DONE WITH THIS COMPANY.
Update from Oct 22, 2015: EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM. OIL CHANGE EVERY 1000 MILES

Transmission hesitates then jerks when shifting in the 30 - 35 MPH range. Has happened since we bought the vehicle. Dealerships keep telling us it is normal. Sound familiar to anyone else?

The transmission has slipped a couple of times when it switches gears. I told the dealership when it was in for a different issue and was told unless its doing it at the time they have it, they can not do anything about it. Great!!

I have a 2010 Chevy Equinox. The transmission started slipping after I fixed my air condition compressor. I hope there is a recall. It's very annoying. I have to pull over to the side of the road.
