Equinox LT 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 114,000 miles

The catalytic converter on this 2.4L junker is radically expensive. Estimates were all over $1000. I had it replaced and less than a year later it went bad again. In less than a year after that it was replaced a third time! Fortunately, the garage has replaced it for us under their parts and service warranty, but it cost me several days of vacation time and rental car expense. Recently I got a letter from GM stating that they are recalling their defective Cats and replacing them. I plan to file for reimbursement. I will post whether they pay or deny my claim. The Equinox is the worst car I've ever owned and I've owned and operated over 50 vehicles in my lifetime.

Equinox LT 3.0L V6 Flex Fuel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 106,848 miles

Our 2011 Equinox had a new engine put in on Aug 07, 2015 so the mileage on the new engine is not what the mileage is stating on the car. The new engine mileage is only 7,416. Since the new engine has been put in we have had to replace the purge valve solenoid and the purge valve canister and the check engine light still keeps coming on with emission codes. Gas cap has been check also (not the problem)
