I have filed this complaint several times, spoke with service reps and salesman at dealership. I also emailed the CEO of GM, which I received a replay from a representative. We discussed the problem, she even called dealership to see if they would waive the fee to find out what is causing this problem.

PROBLEM: SERVICE LIGHT FOR STABILITY TRACTION and ABS continually comes on. Does not matter what speed I am going , whether I drive Freeway, curved, dirt, paved roads. It always comes on. The 2 yellow lights that stay on are extremely annoying at night.

Also this does not show up on my monthly diagnostics through OnStar. I find this odd.

This would be very dangerous if not working properly. I will add one more thing. I have read many complaints by other owners. Some have spent a lot of money to fix the problem, with no success. I feel there should be an investigation to determine why it is malfunctioning. So far nothing has been done.

I am extremely frustrated over this situation.

This is the fifth time in two years that the "Check Engine" light came on in this Chevy Equinox. We always take it to our local mechanic first to verify the problem, then take it to the dealership to repair (it's always good to know the facts before dealing with the dealership). This time, our mechanic says the engine is leaking oil at a crazy rate due to some malfunction in the rings. He says Chevy is aware of the complaints and put in place a lengthy and complicated process so as to avoid a recall. Taking to the dealership today. Since we're just out of warranty, I expect a significant fight. They won't stand by their POS product.

This was an intermittent problem over several months. Upon making a sharp but slow right-hand turn, usually when pulling out of a parking lot or turning onto a street, a bell would sound and then the ABS light would come on, and a warning message on the dash, "Service Stabilatrac". This would stay on for a while and then go off. It also happened once when on an on ramp that curved to the right.

On several occasions, I called OnSTar and they were not able to run a diagnostic unless the light was on. Then finally the light stayed on and I called them but they could not detect anything. When the car did this, there was no other symptom except the warning lights and dinging. I did not detect any issues with the driving but it scared me because it seemed like everything was on the fritz and the ABS was not going to work.

I took it to the dealer and was told it was just a sensor. This was repaired and because I have an extended warranty, it cost me $100. I am not sure if the issue was truly resolved because about 1 month later the entire power steering on the vehicle stopped working. I will report this in another complaint.
