So I noticed some of the orange Dex cool on the pavement of this vehicle. It was just purchased this month along with finding out about the oil consumption and everything else. Just a book of mass solenoids timing chain rear main seals blow-by coming out of the oil cap. These things called orifice holes that need to be cleaned and you have to take the valve cover off in order to do so. Just a big headache of a 2.4 l piece of engineering.

Old bullshit anyway, I noticed some orange coolant do not know where it's coming from. I watched a few videos and it could be because GM decided to use a hard plastic attached to rubber hose for the overfill and this plastic. It's extremely brittle and cracks causing coolant to leak from somewhere. Still can't see where it's coming from. I don't know if it's the water pump. If it is the water pump, that's a whole other problem because the engineers decided to put that where the muffler is and from my understanding you have to cut out the muffler to get to the water pump.

Another big issue is they're remanufactured and come from different countries. One country may have the water pump for the fan blade moves and moves right back to where it's supposed to and in other country the fan blade part does it all the way close on the water pump and you paid for it and you have the same problem all over again. Poor engineering once again. If we can't go back to the '90s, especially with these 2.4 year models, I don't see general motors lasting any longer. I think everyone is slowly pushing us towards electrical cars, making us hate gasoline engines, making it very hard to work on and making mechanics want to quit their job

I would always smell coolant (sweet smell) in the morning (car kept in attached garage) before I started the car to go to work. The coolant tank did show some usage but I could never find drops on floor of garage. I took it in to dealer and they replaced a water outlet seal. That only worked for about 2 years and it's back.
