problem #1

Dec 242014

Equinox LS 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 37,000 miles

We were on the expressway when suddenly we smelled gas. Thinking it was a pick-up that had just passed us we continued to our first destination about 5 more miles. We could smell gas, but didn't see where it was leaking. We continued on to our next stop, another 5 miles. We noticed our car was using a lot of gas (leaking) and when we arrived our Pastor was anxiously waiting for us as our other Pastor had called him and said we were leaking gas profusely. We found the leak, called for a tow truck and had it taken to the dealership. Thankfully it was raining or I might not be reporting this. The dealership couldn't believe the car continued to run with the broken line. It was the blue plastic connection that broke. We paid for the repairs ($126) and have not heard anything about any recalls for this problem. We didn't hit anything in the roadway and there was no ice or snow.
