I bought the car in 2013 and it had 10,000 miles on it. When I first got it, it was okay. It needed some work done on it, oil change, tune-up. Then when time went on, it started to do this like pulling thing, where it felt like if you sped up or slowed down the kilometer thing would go up and down really fast and then like pulling feeling aka lurching feeling. It was a scary feeling because it happened before in my Neon. It would do a hard pulling, like a chugging but harder and not running out of gas. I am not a cars person, but I just know that Chevy has sold us lemons before. I wouldn't surprised if my car is riddled in problems.

My Equinox is rocking back and forth at a stand still, like at a light. When I am driving on the highway it seems to make a plunge forward around 30 -35 mph. The dealership says there isn't an issue but there is definitely something wrong with this. I will never ever purchase a GM again for the reason of I feel they know about this issue and won't help. I feel the dealership knew and sold me the car anyways saying nothing was wrong with the vehicle. I am so disappointed and I will next time go else where.

Probably won't buy another Chevy. I like the size and roominess of the Equinox, but there are problems that we didn't know about. Ever since we got it, it has been lurching when you go slow, it feels like someone hits me from behind. Whenever I take it in to be looked at it doesn't do this.

I just purchased this 2012 Chevy Equinox in Feb. I immediately started noticing transmission irregularities but told myself it was just me having to get used to my new vehicle. Now I know that many 2012 owners experience this strange and scary lunging when you drive between 11 and 15 miles per hour, especially while in stop and go traffic.
As stated before many others it feels like someone has hit you from behind. I am investing starting a class action suit against GM for continuing to sell this vehicle when they are aware of a so far un-fixable defect in the engine. The dealership is of course unable to duplicate the problem as also stated by several other owners or are told to change the gas they use or simply it is a 4 cylinder car so it will do that. Well, I have owned several cars and this is not normal!
I so regret purchasing this vehicle and feel scared that I will have to lose money on this lemon and trade it in for a reliable vehicle at another dealership. This ways heavy on my conscious because someone else will end it with this horrible vehicle.

Have taken my 2012 Equinox to the dealer for the lurching when starting from a stop, but they were unable to find any problem. Have since been told my a mechanic not associated with Chevrolet that my transmission and motor are not a GMC or Chevrolet product, but Saab.

This seems to be a common problem on all I4 with 6 speed automatic transmission.
