I found the tensioner problem to be common and my warranty went out five months prior. Timing Chain issue happened while driving and caused rods to be bent. GM has had severe timing chain issues for nine years now in multiple cars. GM is having severe quality issues with their cars and costing drivers thousands of dollars in repair costs. I have filed a complaint with GM and waiting for a call back. I have owned the car for 15 months.

After driving the car for ten minutes, and stopping at a stop light for 30 seconds or more, we smell (we think) an engine oil burning smell. This is especially strong if we have the vent or A/C on. After the light turns green, 5 seconds after we take off the smell goes away. We took the car to the dealer and they could not duplicate the problem. The service writer said the mechanic might recommend Service Bulletin 000601026E intake manifold bulletin, but I have not been able to a find a copy of subject bulletin.
I will wait till the problem gets worse or happens more often, and continue to take it back to a dealership.
Can anyone give me information on Bulletin 000601026E Intake Manifold ? Thanks
