The first time I drove my 2015 LTZ Equinox at night it was very dangerous The low beam lights only illuminated about 2 car lengths ahead and about 3 feet above the road. I could not see a rise in the road ahead nor road side signs. It was like having a shade was hanging over the windshield and I had to use my brights to see ahead.
I read in one of your previous complaints that GM informed the owner that the lamps are performing as designed.
This is a stupid and dangerous design. My advice to GM is to save sales volume by replacing these lamps with a normal design and save salary costs by firing the stupid bastards that designed these lights.

The first time I drove my new vehicle at night it really frightened me! The lowbeam lights only illuminated about 2 car lengths ahead and about 3 feet above the road. Could not see around a curve, a rise in the road ahead nor road side signs. It was like a curtain was hanging over the lights. I tried explaining this to family, friends, the dealer I purchased it from and directly to General Motors. Most seemed to humor me, the dealer had no idea what I was trying to describe although they did replace the lamps with MUCH brighter bulbs which cause drivers to flash their brights at me and GM has just informed me that the lamps are performing as designed. And then this morning I found this web sight with lots of similar complaints about Sierra Trucks! I feel so vindicated to finally hear others describe the same experience!
Update from Sep 22, 2015: GM stands by their response that the lamps perform as designed, which they do. The safety issue is that design is so flawed and dangerous.

I am currently in the second year of a thirty six month lease, and I have been having problems with the on screen display/radio shutting off for no reason. Along with that, I am having issues where the dash lights,on screen display, and headlights dim for no reason. At first it was just the interior dash lights that dimmed, so, I didn't pay a lot of attention to it. Now, while driving at night, it shuts down the headlights, making it rather impossible to see where you are going. I live in a rural area of south eastern Pennsylvania, where overhead lighting is absent in many, many areas. So, you take your life in your hands when the lights dim as they do.
I have had my vehicle in for service twice, with one visit lasting three days. The result was that they could not duplicate the problem while driving my vehicle around, so, nothing was fixed. They claim to have called Detroit, and no one has any knowledge of this problem occurring with any other 2015 Equinox models. I did a twenty second search on Google, and found numerous complaints that were exactly like mine...hmmm....go figure !
I contacted GM Leasing, along with sales staff at the dealership, complaining that I am not willing to pay rent on a vehicle that can only be used during the day (Part Time). As expected, I got no reply from GM Leasing, and was given the run around by the dealership. I guess that a safety issue like this is not important to either of them. However, if I were to miss a single rent payment, they would be calling the next day, and hitting me with "Late" charges. This sucks, and I have nowhere to turn !
