The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. When the accelerator pedal was applied, the vehicle did not accelerate. While at a stop, the vehicle independently surged. In addition, when the electronic seat function was deactivated, the seats continued to move. The vehicle was taken to the dealer more than four times, but they were unable to replicate and diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving approximately 50 mph, the accelerator pedal became stuck to the floorboard and the vehicle accelerated to 80 mph without warning. The contact placed the gear shifter into neutral and depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle continued to accelerate at 80 mph. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 14,000.

Unintended acceleration!! while driving on the freeway at 70 mph without the cruise the vehicle suddenly was under full acceleration. My wife immediately asked "what is happening". my first reaction was to apply the brake which caused the acceleration to cease. I then called onstar to report the problem and they responded that my tire pressures are ok and no codes were detected. I took it to the dealership where I purchased it and they checked for codes, drove it, inspected and could not find a problem. I called customer service and was basically told there was nothing they could do because there was "no trouble found". this car had less than 900 miles when this problem occurred. I am a former final assembly electronics test engineer for delphi and know how software problems can be difficult to diagnose. I know what I experienced and for GM to ignore this safety problem because a service tech did not recover a trouble code or be able to repeat the problem in a 45 mile test drive simply infuriates me. What would happen if the vehicle decided to accelerate while waiting for a light to change at a busy intersection?
