My vehicle had been consuming too much oil. Engine light came on. Had it diagnosed as a faulty PCV Valve. I had them replaced and it was still burning through the oil. No leaks at all. I had my oil changed regularly and I still had to put a quart of oil in every week. My mileage is at 99,000 roughly.
My engine light came on with warning of low engine power and completely stalled out and died ( sort of speak) on 12/29/2022 I had it towed to the dealership and they said the engine had seized up. I need a new one. WTH
I still owe $4,000 on my car and it had less than a 100,000 miles on it. I had an estimate of 7995 for a new engine and then it will be extra money for unseens.
Can you let me know what your thoughts to help me are on this.
Update from Jan 4, 2023 How should I go about trying to get this covered when new car buyers were not aware nor notified of the PCV Valve issues?

GM knows about the damn issue with the motors and do nothing about it so here every one is still paying for a car they can't drive. I will never buy a GM again...

Bought the vehicle Sept, 2020. I noticed a rattling sound, and the diagnosis was timing chain needed to be replaced. Had timing chain and associated components replaced. One week later, the engine failed requiring replacement with remanufactured engine.

I bought the car in April 2019 and have had it less than 2 years with 7 confirmed oil changes and no warnings that there was low oil. Engine finally locked. All proper maintenance was done on the car. Less than 100k miles.

Purchased it on 1/24/2019 w/38,000m . It ran good for 6mo but started running a little sluggish. Had it looked at & was told just injectors were a little clogged. Had regular oil changes on time. Around June 2020 I left car running long enough to grab something from my home only to return with it running extremely rough (shaking) I immediately turned it off only to find it would never start again without a new engine.
Apparently it was an excessive oil consumer without a warning light. Timing slipped throwing rod through engine.
Had towed to dealership , called GM only to be told I got to address it with dealership, dealership agreed to pay $2000 towards new engine but that's it. We still owe bank $11,000 & had no way of paying the remaining $5,000 for new engine. It was our only vehicle. We were screwed from the start with other dealership that listed it for $15990 on 1/21/2019 that we weren't aware of, whom changed it to $19448 a few days later when we purchased it through a bank ,whom we figured out later were deceived just like we were by them. They fixed numbers to appear as though we paid a $4000 down payment just to push a loan through so they can sell a car. How did I not see this right off. The bank & us were conned. I cant believe I didn't see all the red flags.
