I purchased a 2017 Chevy Equinox on 02/22/2019. When purchased, the dealer/salesman actually started the car before we went out to test drive it. So...of course I did not hear the ticking in the engine. I bought the car used with about 42,500 miles on it. I really hope I don't have any problems with this vehicle. I can't afford a fix like that. However, it is still under warranty. I owned a 2012 chevy cruze and that car also had a ticking in the engine when it first starts. That car ended up with a major oil leak. I hope the chevy company reaches out to us and fixes this problem before something really goes wrong with the vehicle. My next purchase may not be a chevy.

Oil guzzling machine. From what I read Chevy knows there is a problem with the 2.4 liter engine but hasn’t addressed it in the 2017 models. The car belongs to my mother who lives on a fixed income and can’t afford this much oil consumption. Also already needs a timing chain.
