About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
I had previously activated ACC to use on the highway with the speed set at 65mph. After getting off and driving into a parking lot I accidentally bumped the resume toggle on the steering wheel and the car started to accelerate requiring me to intervene. Luckily there were no vehicles or pedestrians in front of me at the time so I was able to regain control. The owners manual has this information. "To begin using ACC again, press +RES up briefly. If the vehicle is moving more than 5 km/h (3 mph), it returns to the previous set speed." 3 mph activation speed seems problematic for low speed situations described above.
