I have the same problem I see so often on Chevy Express vans... when you hit the brakes, the rear brake lights have a mind of their own! I have replaced all the bulbs, had technicians attempt to fix them, the guy who wired the trailer harness on try to fix them, and each time, the problem always comes back. There is no rhyme or reason as to how it works... or not. One side or the other, one (sometimes both!) brake lights decide to not work. Or sometimes the brake light will come on but the marker/running/tail light go out when the brake light is on. Or the turn signal will work but not the brake lights. UGH! This is a safety issue that Chevy should take care of!
