Motor home / camper body. Parked for the winter. Plugged in but occasionally run to ensure batteries are charged. Vehicle has 25,400 miles on it. Outside air temperature about 20 F. started vehicle and dash displays warnings: Engine operating at reduced power and engine overheated A/C turned off. Scanned the ECM for codes and was able to clear these two malfunction indicators. The tool also revealed a premiant code of "P1682 (1/1), ignition 1 switch circuit 2". module # : $7E8 and module# $7ea. This code will not clear until a repair is made. Research reveals that this ignition problem is prevalent among many makes and models of Chevrolet and GM vehicles between the years from 2014 to 2018. And could cause the vehicle to stall while being driven. Research also shows that this problem generally occurs when the weather is warmer. Not when it is as cold as it was when my malfunction occurred. Oddly, in spite of the prevalence of this problem among Chevy and GM vehicle for those years, there has never been a recall.

Currently have a recall on my vehicle (N172086770). Since the original recall in 2018, I've made several attempts with the General Motors to have this issue repaired. As of this date, 7/12/2020, they have been unwilling to fix the problem. I have several case numbers with the company because I've had numerous conversations with them. They keep changing the case numbers in an effort to discourage me from having the problem (a problem they caused) fixed. Please reference dot reference number 9064677 filed on or around 6/8/2020.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Express. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator suddenly illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to grand prize Chevrolet Buick GMC (located at 32 rte 304, nanuet, NY 10954, 854-367-7516) where it was diagnosed that the air bag sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 77,000.

Vehicle has stalled before. Sometimes when starting just spins over. Sometimes starts and says reduced engine power. Runs really rough. Can wait about 10 minutes then restart and runs ok. Usually acts up about every 20 starts. This is a 2014 with about 14000 miles. Has staled when backing up before.

We have had 2 Chevy Express 1500 vans catch fire to the driver door from a faulty window switch. Vehicle will shut off while driving. No warning signs. Will lose all power steering and unstable control. Will not start after it shuts down for up to 24hrs. This vehicle also has a history of hard/trouble starting. When it turns over is will go into protection mode "loss of power". this problem started at 3,178 miles and has continued regularly up to the current 26, 050 miles. Jack wilson Chevrolet of saint augustine has attempted to repair this vehicle eleven (11) times since the 2nd day after purchase. After obtaining all service records since this vehicle was new there have been 24 attempts at repairing this vehicle with no success. Here is a list of repairs pulled from GM workbench service records. Continual check engine light. Dealer cannot find the issue. To date - I sold the vehicle back to dealer, they are selling, so it will be back on the road.
