The HHR is ok but the brakes are the worst I have ever seen. It shakes, rattles and does not stop. Never should need this type or level of repair. I have a 1998 Villager with 400,000 miles and never had this type of brake repairs. I will drive it and make costly repairs but my last GM product and GM cars and trucks have been a family tradition for generations.

Worst dealership experience in my life. Worst mechanics ever encountered after owning 20 vehicles ( all imports ). Experiencing every criticism ever written about G.M. Terrible body panel fit. Steering column replaced twice by 60,000 kms. Worst brakes ever owned. Worst " high perf " tires ever owned. Entire interior removed trying to find broken wire to hatch release and broke lots of clips putting back together improperly. Terrible sport suspension package ( low quality ). Twice as noisy inside car after 60,000 kms.left front stabilizer, bushings, brackets, links replaced at 59,000 kms. Interior fan motor noisy by 50,000 kms. Rotors machined 3 times by 60,000 kms. Rim ruined when putting tire on ( told this was done by their most experienced mech ). Car is not solid enough to withstand real world driving. Great features of car overshadowed by poor quality parts and poor quality control. Suits my small business perfectly but if I keep it, will eventually replace every GM part I can with high quality aftermarket parts. The most disgusting thing is that GM is bragging about how their raising their standards to "Euro" quality. This company should be allowed to self-destruct without Canadian and American taxpayers bailing them out because of their terrible management decisions. This is the auto industry at its worst. Hate myself for buying a GM product when I was smart enough to know better. I will not shut up and go away like they want all their disappointed customers to. Unfortunately for GM, I am the type of customer they dread selling a car to ( well informed and not willing to back down or give up ) I gave them $29,500 and I will force them to stand behind their product no matter how stressful it becomes. The battle continues.

The brake system on this vehicle is absolutely terrible. The brake pads/rotors have to be replaced pretty much every year. The car barely responds to pressure on the brake pedal until it's pressed about halfway down. The drums have to be adjusted every time I get an oil change.....otherwise, the front brakes have to work even harder to get the car to stop
