problem #3

HHR LS 2.0L L4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 56,600 miles

I have been on other websites and found this to be a problem for years with this vehicle. But since it is not a safety issue, and is only a design problem, GM will not issue a recall. Why pay when they can make their customers pay.

Update from Jul 1, 2012: I had to go to the engine compartment fuse block located on the driver side of the engine compartment. Lift the access cover to the fuse/relay block. Remove the Fuse Puller (Fuse #25) and then remove fuse #13 (Fuel Pump), wait a few seconds for the fuel to run out, then replace access cover. I then had to lift the tailgate, remove the Panel Cover, Remove the Tire Cover, and then disconnect the negative terminal wire from the battery as to not drain the battery. Now I have to wait the weekend for the dealership to open so I can see how much they are going to gouge me for this.

HHR LT 3.4V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 46,000 miles

I GOT THIS CAR FROM A USED CAR DEALERSHIP IN FEBRUARY. IT HAD 39000 MILES ON IT AND COME TO FIND OUT THAT AFTER I SIGNED THE PAPERWORK THE CAR HAD NO!!WARRANTY ON IT. AS FAR AS THE THE LITTLE THINGS LIKE THIS ONE.THE FIRST THING, MY KEY REMOTE THAT STARTS YOUR CAR AND LOCKS THE DOORS WILL NOT WORK!! NOW THE DEALER TOLD ME TO CHANGE THE BATTERY IN IT. I DID THAT AND IT STILL DON'T WORK AND I'M ON SOCIAL SECURITY AND I DON'T HAVE MONEY TO BE TAKING MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP LIKE THAT BECAUSE THEY ARE A RIP OFF COMPLETELY. NOW I CAME HOME ON OCT 10THABOUT 930P.M.AND I PULL INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND WENT TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND MY KEY WON'T COME OUT OF THE IGNITION. I TRIED EVERYTHING TO GET IT OUT BUT IT WOULD NOT COME OUT.SO I CALL CHEVROLET ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD DISPATCH A TOW TRUCK DRIVER TO COME AND SHUT THE CAR OFF AND TOW IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. SO I WAITED FOR THEM ABOUT 45 MINUTES TO COME AND THEY CAME BUT (CHECK THIS OUT)WHEN THE DRIVER GOT THERE HE TOLD ME THAT HE HAD TO TOW MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH MY CAR STILL RUNNING. ISN'T THAT TERRIBLE. NOW MY CAR WOULD HAVE SIT AT THE DEALERSHIP FROM ABOUT 10:30 P.M.UNTIL THE MORNING WHEN THE DEALER OPENED UP AND IT WOULD HAVE RAN OUT OF GAS. ANOTHER PROBLEM ON TOP OF THE ONE WITH MY KEYS BEING LOCKED IN THE IGNITION!!I HAVE NEVER WANTED A USED CAR BUT THIS TIME I HAD TO HAVE TRANSPORTATION AND I WENT WITH THIS HHR AT THE DEALER LEADERSHIP!! BUT IF GOD ALLOWS ME TO PAY THIS OF I WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER USED CAR!! AND BE CAREFUL OF THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TOW TRUCK DRIVERS FOR YOUR BRAND VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY ARE OFF THE CHAIN.I HAD TO GO THROUGH MY INSURANCE TO GET A TOW TRUCK DRIVER THAT REALLY LOOKED OUT FOR ME.I JUST CAN'T IMAGINE ME WHAT IF I HAD BEEN ON THE ROAD IN THE DARK THAT NIGHT AND COULDN'T GET MY KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION DO YOU KNOW THAT COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY UGLY OUTCOME.THANK-YOU FOR ALLOWING ME TO POST MY COMPLAINT!!BE BLESSED CATHY D.
