HHR 2LT

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,000 miles

Vibration is worse in the winter when snow is on the ground, then the vibration is AWFUL.

problem #1

Apr 192015

HHR LS 1.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

Had my tires rotated this started the problem. A few weeks after the rotation I was getting bad vibration in the steering wheel. That's when I checked my lug nuts. I tighten them BY HAND!!!!!! Why would any mechanic allow this to happen are they trying to kill us???????

On the new cars with these hub caps you can tighten the lug nuts to them but not the tire. If the tire is not seated on the wheel bolts properly its possible to only have your tire held on buy the hub cap. This is the second time it has happen to me. This is a flaw in the design not only on the HHR but most of the newer cars. I hope this alerts consumers of the dangers of this problem. Take your car to a mechanic you trust.
