Impala LS V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 146,980 miles

I was in the car when I heard a loud pop and the saw a fire under my hood. I was in the car, so scared for my life that the whole car was going to go. I paid 6,000 dollars for a death trap. my advice is don't buy a gm car unless you want a death wish.

I PURCHASED MY 2000 IMPALA LS BRAND NEW FROM THE DEALER IN THE YEAR 2000. FOR THE MOST PART, THE CAR HAS HELD UP VERY GOOD CONSIDERING IT WAS IN STORAGE FROM 2004-2009. ONCE I RETURNED FROM OVERSEAS, THE CAR STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS. THE FIRST ISSUE WAS WITH THE PASS-LOCK SYSTEM. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO GET IT REPAIRED FOR THE PASS FEW YEARS AND HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL.

THE PROBLEM IS THAT ON OCCASIONS (MAYBE ONCE OR TWICE PER WEEK), THE CAR WILL NOT START. WHEN IT DOES START, I WOULD TAKE IT TO THE REPAIRMAN TO SEE IF HE COULD FIX THE PROBLEM BUT IT WILL NEVER ACT UP WHEN IT'S AT THE REPAIR SHOP SO I HAVE LEARNED TO DEAL WITH IT FOR THE MOST PART BUT IT IS VERY DISTRACTING. RECENTLY, ON DECEMBER 30, 2014, I TRIED TO START MY 2000 IMPALA LS AND WHEN IT BEGIN TO RUN, A SQUEAKING NOISE CAME FROM THE ENGINE AREA AND THEN IT EXPLODED FROM THE MANIFOLD AREA. THE CAR HAS ONLY 88,768 MILES ON IT. THERE NEEDS TO BE A MAJOR RECALL ON THIS CAR. I AM LUCKY NO ONE WAS INJURED.
