Impala LS 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 168,000 miles

Ok people, I've had my transmission re-built and just recently my reverse gear has stopped on me. I literally have to push my car into reverse or press the gas to get it backing up!!! This is a pain in the ass!!! What could be the problem?? I spent $1,300 to have it rebuilt and now my reverse has given up on me.

I love this car, the greatest car in America to me. I have put new brake pads, brake calibrators, BCM, starter, battery, new headlights, fog lights, and even a damn new paint job!!!! It has 168,000 miles and maybe its at the end of its run. What should I do people?? It's at the mechanic right now and depending on what he says, this could be the last days!! Please help!!!!

Impala LS 3.8L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 82,000 miles

Someone posted this as engine problem (may be it was): when it at ~2000-2200 rpm the transmission is shifting sporadically up and down, stable when stepping lightly on accelerator or releasing it (revving up or down). Local mechanics hasa no idea what is wrong...
