Impala LS 3.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 186,000 miles

engine overheats and no heat. add coolant and still no heat. upper radiator hose is sucked shut when parked. new intake gaskets installed but problem still exists. don't know where to go from here, so i need some help. forgot to say that head gaskets appear to be ok as there is no coolant in oil and no creamy crud on oil cap, either.

2001 Imapla LS...Chevy should be ashamed of themselves, this car is just one problem piled on top of another. Heater/defrost fan control 1 through 5 work occasionally, but never when its snowing and you really need defrost and heat!!! I know it is electrical as the overhead information center also goes out. Can anyone tell me where to start as I cannot afford to take this car to a $99.00 an hour mechanic. Don't mind getting dirty myself.
