2001 Chevy Impala engine, radiator and battery replaced. Consumer had the vehicle fixed at her own expense because GM would not help her out. She stated that the transmission went 3 months after the engine. The power switch and side mirror was replaced.

The batteries positive terminal came out and there was no electrical power in the vehicle when it happened. Noticed this on September 17, 2005 because the vehicle would not start. The consumer contacted the dealer for a new battery, but they have not looked at it.

A clanking/growling noise was heatd while driving and making turns. Vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the consumer that the steering shaft needed to be replaced. Consumer had a concern that the vehicle had less then 41,000 miles of wear. The battery was replaced.

Battery dead after 7 days left at airport. Replaced battery, but same thing happened again after sitting in driveway 6 days. Noticed a.4amp drain on battery with everthing off. Will take to dealer but I don't expect much from them.

Consumer stated that while driving down the road lost power, all of the dashboard lights were gone. Electrical systems failed on the dashboard, but no where else. He was still able to roll the electrical windows up and down, and radio still came on. Also, airbag light came on, indicating there was a problem. Sometimes when this happened air conditioner did not work. This happened 3 times in the last 2 months. Consumer had taken vehicle to dealer/mechanic, and was told to disconnect the battery.this happened to reset the computer. But when this happened a second time, he took vehicle back to dealer/mechanic. They put vehicle on the computer, and could not find anything wrong with it, but yet they changed the ignition switch, which they said could be bad.
