Impala 3.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 120,000 miles

The wipers will go too far on the driver side of the windshield. If the wipers are turned on high speed they will inconsistently go so far as to fall off the edge. I believe the repair will require replacing the wiper motor transmission, but a temporary fix has been to install an 18" wiper instead of the 22'. Since the passenger wiper goes over 3/4 of the windshield the 18" blade cover the small area it can't and with it being shorter it doesn't go as far over the edge. The issue comes when driving high speed with heavy rain, the wiper will catch on the trim just to the side of the windshield.
