I noticed oil all slowly leaking all over the engine and dripping off the oil pan. It was a slow leak only while running. I ordered a new intake manifold and gaskets for about $60 and replaced it myself. It took a while but wasn't very hard. The leak stopped.

This car has caused nothing but problems, i bought it used when i was 18 about 3 years ago because i was in desperate need of a car. Well stupid car started mixing the coolant with the engine oil and it would overheat daily. Next thing i knew it died completely 6 months after i bought it. I got the engine replaced and it is working again but the damn car has the same stupid problem again... my radiator is full of gunk and oil mixed in with the coolant. how do i get it fixed before i get rid of the damn car.... thanks stupid gm

The upper and lower intake manifolds on the 2002 Impala 3.4L engine have a tendency to leak. This is hardly catastrophic and can be resloved by a mechanic (or yourself) to keep the labor down). Gaskets are not used to make the seal, only sealant. I can assume this is done to reduce cost. The leak is likely frequent because the factory installer failed to use an adequate amount of sealant. This wouldn't even be worth mentioning if the leaks weren't right above the starter. If you find yourself replacing starters at an earlier than expected interval, this is probably why.

This is a problem that should of been fixed along time ago by GM. I just bought this car and had it for a month or so to spend my taxes trying to repeat. Bull sh*t. Put me down for a law suit pending against GM. Dex cool has caused damage and then other things follow due to that going on.
