IVE ONLY HAD MY CAR FOR 2 AND A HALF YEARS AND OUT OF ALL THE PROBLEMS I GET THIS ONE. WATER FILLED HEADLIGHT AND CANT FIGURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL ON THIS IF THERE ARE SO MANY CASES? WHO DO U REPORT IT TO? THESE COMPANIES DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO BUY A NEW CAR EVERY 2 YEARS BECAUSE OF THINGS LIKE THIS, I'M MEAN WATER LEAKING AND DAMAGING YOUR ENTIRE HEADLIGHT. WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?

Headlights filled with water right from the start. I bought this car for my daughter and her husband. He never acted on it (sheesh) Now wires are eaten up and they will have to spend $$$$ for a repair that should never have happened.

Lights have water in them and GM claims this is not a defect and they have no record of this ever happening to any other Impala owners.
CALL 1-800-222-1020 to let GM know you are not happy.

Same here. The first one went while under warranty (6 months). Now the replacement is doing it, too. I plan to put the empty shell under water, face up in the tub to see where the leak is and then seal it with acetone.
I tried to contact the manufacturer but, to no avail. Not unexpected as others chose not to respond to other queries, either.

Highbeam went out when headlights filled with water. Due to corrosion.

What a piss poor design. (Engineer should have to pay for repairs) I had some moisture in both headlights many times but after a while I noticed one was half full of water. I am so shocked that there aren't more complaints. After draining the water my high beam went out on the drivers side. Now shortly after that my right blinker went hay wire. The back one flashes like a like a hyperactive person without ridolin and the right front doesn't work at all. My wipers also stand straight up when you turn them off. I am just now turning 42,000 miles. I checked on the price of replacing the headlights at the dealership and at a local auto parts store and they are approximately $350 each. BEWARE OF A CHEVY! NEVER AGAIN!

You would think this prob could be solved by a simple new seal, or a drain hole at bottom of fixture--but NO they make you pay $200 out of pocket for this repair. (That is for the part only) It is clearly a factory part defect!

Bought my 2002 Chevy Impala new. At just over 36,000 miles had transmission replaced.. then, my AC/HT switch quit working on level 1. AC still works on levels 2-5, so I haven't had it replaced. Estimate to fix was $387.65 because they have to buy a whole new blower motor/switch. Then just a month or so later, my engine wouldn't start after I had stopped to get gas. After about 30 minutes, it started and didn't have any more problems for a while, then out of nowhere, went to the store and when I came out, car wouldn't start. Waited about 15 minutes and it started right up. Has done this several times, and I never know where or when I'm going to get stranded. No one can find the cause.
My headlights fill with water and my highbeam light blows out. Had the whole new light assembly replaced on the driver's side. I think that was around $135 to fix. Really can't remember there's been so many things it's running together in my frazzled brain! Guess what, that didn't fix the problem. Every time I have a new highbeam light replaced, it blows out.
Went out to my car this morning and the window was down (went down on its own after I turned car off). Surprise, my window wouldn't roll up. Cost $140 to get a new window switch/motor. Not happy. Car only has 51,000 miles. Can't afford a new one.l
