This Chevrolet Impala has been nothing but a lemon and a curse, electrically. From day one the wipers never worked and the blinker works intermittently when it feels like it, which gets me a lot of fingers, fists, horns, and paranoia that the police may see me with no blinker, hand stuck out the window in all kinds of weather, using old TURN SIGNALS that half the population probably never learned in driver's ed, HOPING that my flashers FEEL like working so I can at least give the people behind me some kind of warning that will avoid an accident for us all. SERIOUSLY think twice before buying a Chevrolet Impala unless you love the torture chamber about electric problems, 300 miles of electrical wires that no mechanic at fifty plus dollars an hour can seem to find the jinx on... the ignition turns over electrically IF it feels like it, the lights come on IF they feel like it or cut out at night while driving (yes, headlights, cutting out at night, explain that to a cop) no blinker at least half if not 3/4 the time, lies from the dashboard security system stating SECURITY SECURITY when you don't have a problem, radio and air work if they feel like it, are you getting the picture? Spare yourself the agony and buy something else. Problems like these are impossible to track and fix financially and your life will become a living hill of taking the bus while making car payments and paying hefty insurance premiums for a hunk of junk you can't use. I had good success with a Chevrolet Cavalier years ago, but due to this unending problem I will never buy a Chevrolet product again, and that's a shame, but I don't need this nightmare.

I am a proud owner of a 2002 Chevy Impala (Whispering), but I am not proud when my headlights don't come on for a whole week (YELLING!!!!!!!!!!), I couldn't even be caught driving after dark them dang GM workers you see what happens when the crews go to sleep while working on the car manufacturing line.

I bought a 2002 Chevy Impala with 63000 miles on it. It worked great, until I reached almost 110000 miles. I was driving at night when the high beams went out. Clicked to low beams and it worked fine. Went back to high beams and that worked fine for a while, then went back off. It was like something was overheating and shutting them off. Check everything. All parts were not overheating. Then it was the low beams that went out intermittently. Now the low beams will only come on rarely. But the fog light can be turned on when on low beams. Now the dash lights are out. Had to add plug in lights that run off the cigarette lighter.
I am sick of this problem and it needs to be recalled. Everyone that as an Impala is facing the same problem. RECALL THE DAMN THING. ITS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE.
