Windshield wipers do not return to the park position when in the delay mode. They work OK when in continuous mode however it is very annoying for the wipers to stop in the upright vertical position, hesitate for about 3-5 seconds the return to the park position for about 1 second then it repeats this pattern until you go to continuous mode or the off mode.

Okay, here's my grief. I have had this car for four years now and I have spent more money on the wipers than I have on all other repairs, COMBINED!!! Including regular oil changes and such. It's 60. to get my wipers put back in the park position(DEALER) ad then when they quit working all together, it was $425, and that was a break since I had spent $60 all the 15 times the wipers got stuck. They got stuck at least three times in the winter snow. This is ludacris, why isn't there a recall??????? I know I have read at a minimum of forty other complaints in various other sites. (all in the last month) Why does Chevy want to push away those of us who buy American? My husband works for a car factory, but I don't care if it keeps costing more to fix than he makes. I'm taking the car to the dealer in the morning, I will be sure to let everyone know this dealer if my outcome is not what it should be, These wipers are an assest to mine and my children's safety. If my wipers don't work in a rain storm on the freeway with my three kids in the back, we are not the only vehicle at risk. Will a fatal accident have to happen before something is done? Chevy needs to answer to this issue, NOW. If someone does die from their error, then they will be the ones to pay. Wouldn't it make sense to answer now?

Wipers just decided to stop lying down, no warning, no particular reason!

The wipers would stop straight up, like goal posts when you would turn them off. It is beacuse the wiper motor rest cam gets full of dirt and sticks. Here's the solution. Buy a can of lubricating spray and a can of aerosol grease. I already had some, so it didn't cost me anything. Remove both windshield wiper arms and the cowlings under them. Remove the cover off of the wiper motor cam assembly, located on the drivers side under the cowling. Tuck some shop rags around the wiper motor so they won't interfere with the linkage (turn on the wipers first to get an idea of where they move to.) Have someone turn on and off the wipers while you spray the cam thoroughly with lubricating spray. After awhile you will notice the cam behaving radically different when the wipers are turned off. Wipe off excess oil and recoat the assembly with spray grease. Replace the cover, cowls and wiper arms, you're done.
