The coolant light comes on when I am driving, it reads coolant hot in red. Then it may go off. I have noticed my fan is loud when I shut the car off. I felt the hood of the car it is cool.

My car is very well maintained, recently the car just kept getting low on coolant, used the coolant suggested by dealer, couldn't really see any leaks but had a strong odor of burning coolant and would run on the hot side but never really over heating. Very similar signs of head gasket. Lower gasket, 1000 dollars, its being fixed right now, mechanic said, very common problem and to call the dealer, I did and the guy said well, these can go at 10K I was like WTF are you even serious you sell a new car knowing this???? My mechanic said they made them of plastic and they rot away. I'm disgusted right now. Mechanic said this should be a recall as he has repaired many and believes it should be , poor design..

Bought car brand new off of lot. Paid 29,000 for it. Started having problems at about 78,000. Now the main thing is coolant systems. Car is getting hot after driving about 10 miles. Light comes on and it says hot engine. I had to wait for it too cool off. Before I could get it home. Took it to a garage to be fixed, said I had water in my oil. Bad intake Gasket. I pray the motor is not gone. I've had many other problems as well, brakes, anti-lock brakes system. Put new hubs left and then right abs system cost over $1000.00, Drove 3 years now its messing up again. I just replaced the air flow problem $170.00. I've had this over heating problem for about 2 yrs. Took to garage couldn't find nothing wrong. Finally, got water in the oil, so its the intake gasket. So tired of having these problems. Barely can afford food, much less having to put in car. Just got it paid for 2 months ago. I can't keep tires on it,not good gas mileage either. It's in the garage now. Nothing to drive, can't get nothing to drive, until I get it back. Not sure what the bill is going to be. GM should have a call. I was told by local GM dealer This happens often in Chevy cars. Not fair to the customer. Want buy another new Chevy. You're just putting yourself out of business. Things are gonna happen, but from what I hear its the same problems in the same type of cars. Should be a recall.
