the transmission had acted up in the past 6 months or so but stopped. I decided to change the fluid and filter. it was ok for a day. it started randomly shifting hard into gear at part throttle. the car would shake and vibrate as though it was not engaging the clutch properly. at times it felt like it was shifting too soon causing the engine to bog down. I took it to a auto parts store and the code was P0742 (TCC circuit stuck on). after checking the internet I was expecting a repair around $1000 to $2500/$3000. the higher cost would be if it had to be replaced or rebuilt. there are places online that will charge $1000 for a new/rebuilt transmission and will ship it to the shop of your choice. I had considered that instead of a dealer or transmission shop as everyone knows of the horror stories of trans shops and dealer repair costs to transmissions.

fortunately it appears to be fixed now and supposedly has a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty for what that is worth. (my luck it would be another internal part) the receipt showed about half of the cost was parts. I know the parts are not that expensive but it is somewhat labor intensive.
