Impala Sedan V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 160,000 miles

So I just purchased this 2005 Chevy Impala used on January 20, 2012...checked the carfax report and thought I was really getting a GREAT deal...WRONG!!! As soon as I drove away I started to have problems...so far I've had the engine rebuilt (Heads, spark plugs, gaskets...u name it), then I had the crank sensor and knock sensor replaced, now the damn temperature gauge, fuel gauge, and speedometer are gone out! My mechanic suggested I go to the dealership to get it fixed and he stated that I'm looking at around $500!!!! I just put like $580 dollars into this car and that's not including what I've paid in labor! I'm starting to get a headache!! After reading these complaints I'm definitely thinking that Chevy should do a recall on this faulty sh*t before they lose a lot of good customers!!!!

Like most people on this site,I too have a problem with the speed gauge, and gas gauge.I have a GPS to tell me how fast I am going. But I really want the gas gauge fixed. Can't tell how much gas is in the car, only if the gas light indicator lights comes on telling me low fuel.

Impala LS 3.8L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 88,200 miles

ok so when i first got this car the temp gauge was already not working but that didn't matter, later the gas gauge stopped working so i used the trip function and refilled whenever i passed 150+miles. But tonight i was on a small drive and i noticed that my speedometer wasn't shaking instead of smoothly moving up and down, when i put it on park it stopped on 20. I heard about this problem from a customer at my job, and now i guess i'm a victim

Impala

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

should off said something earlier but life went on ,the cost (estimated) at that time was to much to pay..the low gas light and chime still works that we use now.The heat gauge stopped working the same time...I may never buy an Impala again...might try a ford vehicle the next time... I'm here because a friend of mind has the same year vehicle and he's had speedometer problems...
