Well, I went to work on Friday 03/12 then went to Enid, OK from OKC and then got caught in heavy heavy rain. Well, around the time we started back it had been heavy raining for quite some time. Water must have gotten up into my engine bay and gotten into my coils. My car suddenly started flashing the check engine light when I would accelerate above 65mph. I always cruise of course with the cruise on and it would not go away.
Well, anyways to the point. It rough idles and feels like it's going to die/stall when I am at a complete stop. I went to AutoZone, 03/15/21 and had to plug in the code machine and it spit out a code for a misfiring #6 cylinder and my replacement would be a head gasket (????). My mechanic neighbor came to help replace the spark plug, which in my model was towards the rear of the engine which was a pain in the ass. POINT IS... it is the coil pack that went out. Now, it's not really an issue that any one with year model Impala may have to worry about but its just a heads up. STEAR CLEAR OF HEAVY WATER.
