On going problems lasting approx. 2 years now. Started with no heat in the winter..quit producing heat..had system flushed and filled..year later same thing..redid flushing. Temperature gauge started spiking randomly, only today it hit red..sensor lights/warning came over dash..got home and shut down immediately. Thank goodness only a minute and a half from home. Coolant leaking all over down by lower "pulley" where belt is on passenger side of the car.
HELP...I work at Walmart and wages aren't the greatest and I can't keep putting money into the car...loved the car when I first got it...definitely not buying Chevy. This is my second go round..twice burnt.. First was a Chevy Lumina that the motor had to be replaced at 64000 miles...bought brand new...Both vehicles were maintained by the owners manual with all work receipts kept....going to buy a Ford the next time...they didn't take the bailout and keep producing junk.
Also want to add, mechanic did "pressure test on the block...it was OK.... Also was told by mechanic that heating problem was due to design flaw as to how system is constructed..instead of bleeding air from the top...it has to be bled at the bottom..I'm no engineer..but science taught me air rises...And also before someone asks..all hoses and camps have been replaced and radiator has been inspected....I need help/answers. Thanks.
